Last one with the kit (for now anyway)

This is the last project I've completed with the kit, but there is still some left for a bit more. It sure was an honor to be asked to be a Designer this month. It was a lot of fun!

Mini acrylic album

A mini acrylic album with pics of my sweeties. I'm sure having fun with this kit!

Travelin' Man

Another layout for SBCH design team.

SBCH Jan Sketch

I came up with this based on the sketch at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse. I'm sure after next week's trip to Disney I'm sure I'll have some photos to plug in.

Meeting Jake

Both of the boys absolutely LOVE babies. When we arrived at the farm, all Connor wanted to do was find Jake and hold him. They're just both so darn cute!

Big Happy Family

Pretty good looking bunch, huh? This was a photo of the 9 grandkids taken at Christmas. Again, all supplies from the Feb. kit at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse.

More Design team projects

Used some leftover strips of the Hambly transparency, cut the star out of pp and added the little blue button. Hopefully this is 'cool' enough for young boys.

A little cupcake card using some of the scraps from the kit. The 'enjoy' is from a CTMH stamp set I have, but everything else is from the kit.

A little $ store journal that I decorated using the kit. This is for our trip to DisneyWorld next week. The kids teacher's have all assigned them daily journals while we are away so I guess each night we'll have to schedule journal time, and I can use this to record the happenings of the day.

YOU

I was so honored to be asked to be a Designer this month at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse. Next month's kit was so fun to work with. You can see it all here.

This is one of Nicole on her 5th birthday. The photo is just so her - a little bit of innocence, and a bit of attitude to go with it.

What we Learned in 2008

A layout for the end of my 2008 family album (so the end is done but the rest barely started!!). Just a few of things we learned the hard way in 2008. Refers to some basic life lessons and also things that we learned during the not-so-good times like my father-in-law's heart attack, our nephew's accident and our young neighbor's tragic death. All of the supplies came from next month's kit at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse, which can be seen here.

New Year's Resolution

I don't typically make New Year's Resolutions, but this year I decided to make one promise to myself - to take action on all the things I say I'm going to do, but never do!! Hopefully if I see this hanging in my scraproom, It will be a reminder to myself to do just that. I've 'hidden' a letter to myself about some of those things I really want to do and need to start taking action on. I used the current month's kit at ScrapbookersClubhouse and this week's challenge at Scrapping Out Loud for inspiration.

Color Challenge

As part of the design team at ScrapbookersClubhouse, I had the responsibility of coming up with a color challenge for this month. I challenged the members to design a layout using Winter colors based on this definition in Wikipedia: The colors of this season have cool blue undertones, and most are virtually pastel versions of the Summer palette. Baby blue, slate blue, powder pink, seafoam green and slate grey are typical Winter colors. A number of the colors are suggestive of the season for which they were named: winter white and the myriad of icy colors such as icy blue and icy pink. Grey skies tinged with blue and mauve, and bare trees with a grey ghostlike appearance personify the colors of winter."

Specifically, I asked them to use either white, gray & blue OR white, gray & pink in their design.

Here are my two examples:

Design Team News

I'm thrilled to have been asked to be a designer at Scrapbookersclubhouse for the month of January. I just love being part of the clubhouse and have found the forum to be a great place to hang out. As a designer for this month, I get the priviledge of creating with next month's kit. I'll post my projects after the official reveal date, Jan. 15th.

A New Start

A New Year and a new start - a blog. So far the hardest part was picking a name but since this is, and has been, one of my favorite quotes for awhile, I thought I'd go with this. Now I just have to learn how to make the blog look purty.
